We stopped by the Transportation Museum in St Louis 4/25/2015. It's well worth a visit if you are in the St Louis Area. They have an extensive collection of trains and a much smaller collection of autos. The equipment that is restored is done very nicely, and you can see many of the 'to-be-done' projects, they aren't all hidden away. There were some things I wanted to see but couldn't find (the NYC Mohawk, the SP GS-6) but that's just an excuse for a return visit. Photography can be difficult as most are stored under covered sheds, and the outside equipment is fairly close together on storage tracks. They have some of everything: steam, diesel, electric (the last Milwaukee Bi-polar), trolley, passenger and freight cars. Some are real treasures that I hope they get to restoring, reason enough to support them with a visit.
