Good Morning all.

Another clear blue sky start to the day, windy though but warm with it!
No rain forecast til the end of the week.

Spent most of yesterday socialising.......need exercise or the pounds will go on!!
Good to have Mum and Dad over though, gives them a break.

No modeling still, the train room is out of bounds at the mo,
well, its the guest room for a few days!

Short on money now, had to get my eyes tested and need new glasses.
Don't come cheap, not entitled to National Health Service.....!!
Get 25% back via private insurance but still had to outlay over $500...!!
(Obama to note.....!!!).
The same goes for the dentist (a check up was $30!).
So much for free health care over here, but then I'm not an immigrant....!!!
Rant over.....

Lets see what else has happened on the Forum.

Have a good day.

Brian

Good morning folks

It was 40 F as I hit the wet pavement this morning. High will be 47 F. It is still raining. It has been raining pretty much since Friday afternoon. On Saturday we got 3.8 inches in Drexel Hill. We had a little bit of water in the basement but amazingly not a flood. The yard is a swamp. Trees have been knocked down all over the neighborhood. Again another surprise was we did not lose power. They say tomorrow we should see the sun. I am just glad it is not snow this time around.

My daughter has a basketball playoff game on Saturday which they won. They will play the championship next weekend. Yesterday we visited the Mutter Museum (http://www.collphyphil.org/INDEX.ASP)in Philadelphia. The Mutter Museum is a medical college museum. Their slogan is disturbingly informative and I will say some of it was disturbing and left you with a queasy feeling. My son had won tickets to the museum.

My son finally finished his Swimming Merit Badge yesterday.

Since we were anticipating water in the basement a few items wound up on the workbench temporarily which meant that I could not work on anything. I am hoping to put things back tonight or tomorrow.

Tonight is my daughter’s flute lesson and my son has Boy Scouts. Him and I had to get ready for his next Boy Scout camping trip to Antietam this weekend.

I hope everybody has a good day.

Good Morning Brian and my fellow Forumeers.

A nice start to our day. Temps will only get to the mid 60's, vs. the low 70's we had over the weekend!! tongue.gif wink.gif Then it's going to drop a bit cooler for the rest of the week, with another S L O W warm-up by the weekend. The forecasters are saying only slight chances of rain a couple days this week.
Have to go to Grand Jury, shortly, so have limited time here this A.M.
Never once made it to the trains, either. After taking #2 son out for breakfast, on Sat. morning, the three of us went and did some "light" household shopping, then drove 45 minutes to a couple of gun shop/sporting goods stores in Wilmington, looking for a shorter gun case to fit my new, smaller patrol vehicle. Was driving a Crown Vic and have replaced it with a Ford Escape. found a used one that was overpriced, but LD talked the guy down $20.00. Fits my rifle and the vehicle, perfectly!! smile.gif Spent the rest of Sat. getting everything organized so I have room and can find everything when I need it.
Took LD out for breakfast on Sunday, as son spent the night at a friend's house. Then went to office to do some admin stuff. Was pretty lazy the rest of the day, but plan to get back in my after work walking routine. Have definitely put weight on over the winter. sad.gif
Was somewhat dismayed, but also pleasantly surprised to find out this morning that my daughter's POS boyfriend is wanted in an adjoining County for a misdemeanor charge of Assault by Pointing a Gun. Don't have any details, just know he's wanted. Wish he lived in my Town so I could arrest his sorry a$$!!! I keep hoping that one day she finally figures out he's a worthless piece of cr@p.
I'd best look over the Forum for a few and get ready to go.

Hope that everyone has a good, safe, fun and RR kind of day.

Lo flo frummers. A grey day here today! Very gloomy.
Doc just phoned me about my X-ray on the shoulder. I do have arthritis in it, as I surmised. They want me to go and see someone else, and to have a steroid injection in the shoulder! I don't think I will bother. Just more expense.
Tompm, that museum sounds like the one in the Royal College of Surgeons in London, not open to the public though! I got to see it when working in the building - very ghoulish!
Mike, these women and their choice of men, I will never understand it!
Brian, sorry to hear of your costs - they pale into insignificance compared with my health and dentistry bills over here! We pay for insurance, and still end up with huge bills to pay! Seems you pay twice!
Have a grrrrreat day folks.

Michael.

Good afternoon from cloudy and cool Northeast Ohio. Temperature not expected to get over 45 today.

Mike, do you get to take your police vehicle home? When I lived in Loveland, CO both the city police and the county deputy sheriffs got to take their vehicles home. We all asked my neighbor, a deputy sheriff to leave his car outside as a deterent to crime in the area.

Managed to get in two games of Rail Baron with the family. Also painted the yellow parts of my D&TSL GP7, will mask and then paint it black prior to decaling. Also worked on my 40' HyCube putting on all the detail parts. Also found an unfinished Eastern Car Works ACF 1798 cuft Covered Hopper and worked on finishing that up.

Everyone have a nice day! biggrin.gif

Almost 2 pm and I finally was able to get access to the forum. So, what was I going to say..... wacko.gif

Grey and chilly here, just was out for my walk wearing a Carhart jacket, a stocking hat and gloves!!! Did see more signs of Spring, tho, a blue bird, robin and red-winged blackbird. Still looking for the 'buzzards' (turkey vultures) that should be here any time, they are due in Hinkley, OH today if I recall correctly. http://cleveland.about.com/od/clevelandare.../p/buzzards.htm Ugly old things but they do a good job at cleaning up the road kill.

Mike, I've never had a clown quite that bad sniffing around either of the Doll's girls but one was inflicted with a pathological lying lazy ne'er do well and the other had a couple year dalliance with one just about as bad, but didn't tell the whoppers that the other, Tommy Tall Tales, did to get a nickname like that. He was more like a 12 year old hound, sort of like Jed Clampett's dog.

Interesting that you are driving an Escape, Mike. I'd be curious how it holds up... They're nice looking cars, if somewhat on the lightweight side to look underneath them. The Doll's brother and a couple friends of ours have them.

Modeling wise I've been tinkering with finishing up a set of a truck and two trailers and have plans to get back at the SD40-2 paint job.

Not much else happening here. Got to get to work.

BE SAFE!!
